I blink, wondering if I heard that right, then scowl at him for being an idiot. "Of course I don't hate you," I snap. "Why would I hate you?"

My head snaps round as Yellow says that. "Hey!" I protest, "there's only one Blue!"

I stare at them suspiciously. "Are you trying to be funny?" Or is this some weird shared dreaming thing? That's a thing, right?

"Yes, he's here," Black agrees, scratching his head.

I point out into the main cavern. "Stick your head out there. But carefully. I don't actually want you to lose it."

I give him another suspicious look, but stick my head round the corner into the main room, only for my jaw to drop in outrage.

There's two impostors in there and one of them's snuggling up to Silver like glue.

"Hey!"

I squawk, grabbing him by the collar and hauling him back.

"Keep your voice down! You don't want them to attack you! You don't know how dangerous Blues can be!"

"But there are fake mes out there!" I hiss. I can't believe anyone would dare. "And one of them's cuggling Silver like he's a teddy bear. Silver!"

How? Why? Silver gets twitchy if you get too into his personal space, so I don't bother, but a fake can get away with it? Outrage!

Wait. "You think I'm dangerous?" Aw, Yellow, I didn't know you cared.

"Silver?!" I yelp, but yeah, he's right. That one of him was really all up in Silver's space. Silver's so caught up with his self-image of being mysterious and shit, how the hell did this Blue get through that wall?!

I rub my forehead. "I did not mean to say that."

"No takebacks!" I say gleefully, forgetting about the impostors for the moment. "Black, you heard him, right? He said I was dangerous." I point at him triumphantly. "Witness!"

I bounce on my heels slightly, grinning at him. I can milk this forever.

"Witnessed," I say dolefully. Yellow makes an aggravated noise, kind of like when a mynah bird is about to peck your eyes out for getting too close to its nest.

"I meant dangerous like a two year old," he tries.

The grin fades almost immediately. He was worried. Something about them bothers him aside from just being fakes of me.

"Everything is always your fault! I'm gonna go wake Red up." I grump, stomping along the corridor. We might as well mess up everyone's sleep. (except maybe White, she's scary)

Being woken up in the middle of the night is never good, and when it's done by Yellow - looking like he's on the verge of panic, oh no - is worse. What on earth happened that he can't handle?

Oh.

Three Blues? Three?

"Are you sure?"

"Totally sure," I say, woebegone, one hip perched on the edge of his bed. "Red, what the hell are we going to do?!"

For a moment I think about just going back to sleep and waking up to find this was a weird dream. It only lasts a moment though and then I swing my legs out of bed, scooting over to sit next to Yellow.

"Do you think they're dangerous? Or likely to cause problems?"

Oh, I hope Orgs don't find them.

"Yes," I say flatly, but then I stop and reconsider. Grudgingly. Reluctantly.

"...maybe not. They just seem like they want to protect themselves. Which isn't... isn't unreasonable, I guess. But you know how dangerous Blue is all by himself."

I grin at the immediate response, slinging an arm companiably around his shoulders.

"I do," I agree. "But he's not a threat to us, right? He's just... enthusiastic."

Does Red always have to be so friendly?! I make a face at him and make no effort to move his arm off me.

"So what are you saying?"

Ohhh, that's different. Usually there's more grumbling at that.

I sigh at the question, though. "I don't know. But I need to talk to them myself before I make any firm decisions."
