There's growing light in this big cavern thing. I frown, trying to get a sense of where it's coming from. "Is that sunrise?"

Kai's safe enough with Ragi there. I pad over to the - doorway? Is that what it is? Then yelp and have to grab at the wall before I fall out.

How? Why? Silver gets twitchy if you get too into his personal space, so I don't bother, but a fake can get away with it? Outrage!

Wait. "You think I'm dangerous?" Aw, Yellow, I didn't know you cared.

Flying? I make my way over to where he's standing, Ragi behind me, because of course he is, and crane my neck to see what Shirogane's looking at.

I pull my head back in quickly before the wind can tug it off, but I can't help but grin at the sight anyway. Proper sky! Not something I get to see very often.

"Silver?!" I yelp, but yeah, he's right. That one of him was really all up in Silver's space. Silver's so caught up with his self-image of being mysterious and shit, how the hell did this Blue get through that wall?!

Of course Kai's not bothered at all. I smile back, reluctantly.

"It's beautiful, isn't it."

I take another look. This... this doesn't look like our level of technology at all. Vaguely aware that I could be broadcasting to both of the brothers behind me, I start wondering. Could it be somewhere completely outside our area of space?

Ragi makes a thoughtful sound behind me, but honestly I'm not that interested. Look at the sky! Look at the clouds. I edge closer slightly to get a better look, scowling when Ragi grabs the back of my shirt with a muttered curse, and then tug hard on Shirogane's arm in excitement. Is that water? I've never seen so much of it in one place.

"No takebacks!" I say gleefully, forgetting about the impostors for the moment. "Black, you heard him, right? He said I was dangerous." I point at him triumphantly. "Witness!"

I bounce on my heels slightly, grinning at him. I can milk this forever.

I yelp, grabbing the wall harder. He's not thinking at me so much as just thinking really loudly. "I think it is water," I agree, making an educated guess.

What if... what if this is another alternate universe?

The grin fades almost immediately. He was worried. Something about them bothers him aside from just being fakes of me.

How dangerous are they, really?

There's so much of it, I say, amazement no doubt colouring everything. Have you ever seen so much, Shirogane? I can't believe it.

So much green, too. So much stuff that's alive. I didn't think anywhere could be like this, at least not outside of stories of the Good Old Days.

I wonder briefly what it'd be like for Kai if he'd been able to grow up here. Without the Alliance over their heads. Without all the strain.

These people probably have their own problems, but I bet it's not that bad.

It takes longer than it probably should to realise there's another presence hovering. One that isn't called either Shirogane or Ragi.

Being woken up in the middle of the night is never good, and when it's done by Yellow - looking like he's on the verge of panic, oh no - is worse. What on earth happened that he can't handle?

Oh.

Three Blues? Three?

"Are you sure?"

I scowl as Shirogane tries to hide me, stepping around him so I can see... whatever it is better. I also twist away when Ragi hisses and tries to pull me back.

It's not going to hurt me, I tell them. I know that somehow, though I don't know how. Whatever it is, it would no more hurt me than either of them would.

Hi, I say carefully, reaching out a hand to it and hoping it can hear me. I'm Kai.

Kai shifts around me, and avoids Ragi at the same time. I exchange a rueful look with Ragi.

There's the oddest sense of welcoming from the big blue floating fish.
